PARTNERS SPOTLIGHT
We launched our first Growing Minds Farm to ECE Academy during the 2024-25 school year! This was an incredible opportunity to work more closely with ECE centers and build strong connections with the staff, children, and their families. We helped centers do an assessment of their needs and assets, identify their F2P goals, and create an action plan for starting or expanding programming. Then we provided in-person training, mini grants, resources, and ongoing support to staff to implement activities, with an emphasis on sustainability.
from Lead Teacher Makenna Gazaille: “We have so many students whose parents describe them as picky eaters. Growing Minds provided us with mushroom grow kits and parents didn’t expect kids to want them. Actually being involved in that process made them want to try them; all students tried the mushrooms. I had one parent ask what mushrooms we grew and how they cooked them because their child wanted to buy the grow kits, grow them, and eat them at home!”
